Is it dangerous to use a cordless phone or a cell phone during a thunderstorm?

I know you are not supposed to to use a phone that is connected to the wall by a cord. But I've often wondered about the cordless phone or cell phone. So I am going to ask here and see what the responses are about it.

If lightning actually hit on your phone line, or close to it, it might fry your 'base station', but on your cordless unit, it would just go dead. (It won't work anyway without power to your home base unit.) As for a cell phone, maybe, if you were standing in the top of a tall tree in a bad thunderstorm, in other words, NO!!

naw i always use mine

no not really but you do want to turn them off or unplug it or they'll mess up

The best answer is simply NO. You have no direct physical connection to the cordless unit or the cell phone satellite or tower

No it is not dangerous. In fact, if your landline phone has the proper grounding, it is not the risk that was once believed.
