How can I record my phone calls on my computer?

How can I record my phone calls on my computer not spending much money (if any at all)? I know it is legal. How can I do it? I know I need some kind of softaware that records voice from the microphone input, but what equipment do I need to buy to connect my phone line to the microphone jack input?
