How do you tell if a verizon phone is a prepaid phone?

How do you tell if a verizon phone is a prepaid phone? In other words is there something unique or distinct about prepaid phones that regular phones don't have?

No, the phones look the same but there is a difference in the service. Any contract phone can be used on a prepaid line so if you have an old verizon phone you want to activate on a prepaid plan, you can. Pre paid phones, on the other hand, can't be activated on a post pay account until after being used as a prepay for @ least 6 months. The main difference is the cost. There are 4 plans for prepaid phones ranging from .99 a day to 3.99 per day. All of the plans (except for the 3.99 a day plan) have a cost for the minutes ranging from .05 to .10 a min or a text. The $3.99 plan gives you unlimited minutes and text for .01 each..You only get charged on the days you use it, but think about it, even with the unlimited plan, @ 4.00 a day, that's roughly $120 a month...more than the regular unlimited plan

if you have verizon inpulse (prepaid) for only $20 a month you can get unlimited text, messaging, picture messaging, video messagining to anybody, any network,in the u.s.a.

Dial *611, select Additional Options, then select the option for calling plans and features and follow the prompts for changing optional features.

Well, when you buy the phone you probably wouldn't tell. But the way I find out is that I go on the company's website and search the name of the phone im looking for. It usually says if it is prepaid or not prepaid. Also you can tell buy the price. Some prepaid phones are like 10$ or more or less.

No, they look the same.
